Design Thinking Week 3

on

week 3 has arrived and I’m still struggling to connect with the online live seminars, this is not necessarily a huge problem because all of it is recorded and posted later on in the day/ week. so I can always catch up on all the information I missed. However, the only negative is that I may have a question that doesn’t get addressed, luckily this hasn’t been the case so far!

Assignment one was addressed and it was made clear what exactly was needed to be done. I personally found it useful hearing about some examples for the 3 individual research models. some examples given were the IBM Loop, Double Diamond and shocking to me the 6 thinking hats.
initially, my first thought was that the 6 thinking hats were a primary school children’s activity to get the kids ready to learn which I guess in itself is a method to influence children into applying themselves to specific challenges. I spoke with my mum about this later that evening and she told me how Edward De Bono wrote about it in the ’80s and it was an approach for groups to effectively plan in a structured way to tackle challenges.
